CC48 minus 5 Days and Counting

For those of us that grew up in the hay-days of NASA, phrases like "5 days and counting" were common place. Whenever we heard them our pulse quickened and we could visualize a new adventure unfolding before our eyes. Well, that is the way I feel today. It is 5 days now until I leave on my epic "Compassion Corner 48" motorcycle trip to raise money for a local food pantry. I will leave on Tuesday September 6 and will ride the route shown in this picture to all of the lower 48 states in 23 days, assuming no problems along the way of course. I dread having to make a call to my wife, "Lansdale we have a problem!" I have been pouring over every inch of my motorcycle checking everything twice. I think all is ready to go. New tires, fresh oil, everything adjusted and tweaked etc. As you know these trips are not new to me, but each one is like the launch of a shuttle in my mind.....well maybe an Atlas missle launch.
