I made it!

Well, I barely made it to BMW Motorcycles of Salt Lake. For the last 30 miles I could not go over about 45 mph and the last 10 miles I could not go over 10 mph. I timed every light so that I did not have to start from a dead standstill and rode on the berm of I-15 at times with my flashers on. Need I mention that UT drivers must take speed limits as a "Minimum". I later found out why, as the beautiful BMW Police Bike was in for service at the same dealership. The last 5 miles were tedious to say the least... I had one over pass to go up over and the bike barely made it at a walking pace. All the while I was breathing ever so gently on the throttle to try to keep the enging matched to the bike speed, but it was no longer possible. It had to slip a lot to even move. When I arrived at the dealership Josh was waiting at the service bay entrance with the door open flagging me in. there was a 6 inch rise into the bay and I had the bike in 1st gear and had to help it up the incline with my feet as it would not do it alone. The clutch was totally out and the engine was at 1,000 rpm when I stopped in the bay. My trusty steed had done it!!! I learned later from the tech (OH my God.. I am having a brain fart... the one name that I should remember most and I am drawing a blank) that did the repair that he could tell from the lack of heat damage that I must have ridden it very carefully as most bikes in this condition had severe heat damage to the clutch parts. Little did he know I worked the throttle like a surgeon doing open heart surgery on a gnat. What a relief to be there. I am sorry I did not get a Picture of Josh holding the door for me as he was a welcome sight, but here is Mindi. I had spoken to hear several times on the phone while on the road and she could not have been more helpful. She has only been with the dealership for a week, but they have a gem.
