The loaner!
I did not even think to ask for a loaner bike, as I was just happy to be there and have my bike scheduled to be fixed. I don't know who even thougt of it, but befoe I knew it the wheels went into action to make sure I had one. I am not sure what the model was, but it was the Triumph competitor to the Harley Sportster. The bike was very smooth and I could sense it had plent of power, but I felt a little like a "bear on a bicycle". It had a feet forward riding position which is far different than my BMW, but it was smooth and performed well. I don't think I went over 45 in the few miles I rode it, but I was appreciative to have transportation if I needed it. Turns out I only rode it from the dealership to the hotel and back, but I can tell you that it only took one or two bumps to realize how well my R1200GS absorbs bumps. I crossed a couple sets of railroad tracks which were actually very smooth, but I think one of my kidneys is back there somewhere. These bikes a built for little tough guys. I guess I am spoiled, but every time I ride any other bike I come back and kiss my R12. It is truly the Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles. Maybe not the absolute best at any individual kind of riding, but definitely the best in the world at doing them all very well.
