The Rubicon Trail

Further up along the west shore is the trailhead for the Rubicon Trail. This is the off road vehicle trail which is said to be the most challenging in America. Jeep named the Rubicon model after it. I followed the signs to the trailhead and went as far as the pavement allowed. From this point on it was off road only. My GPS tried to route me along the trail as I could see it heading me right at the mountain. I DON"T THINK SO Mr. GARMIN. Not this 60 year old wanna be off roader. I took my picture and turned around. I have researched this before and about 100 yards from where I turned around the trail becomes a major bolder field. All around the Tahoe area you can see serious off road vehicles that obviously are specially made for this piece of fear and trepidation. Not me anymore.
